Trampoline is an athletics event in Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games (Nintendo 3DS). You play the event with all four characters from the Challengers character set. The starting Record for this event is 41.000pts.

Gameplay

The routine consists of ten jumps. The character jumps automatically, and the player must press the A Button when the timing markers overlap. Points are awarded based on timing, with perfect timing earning the highest score, followed by great, good, and bad results. Pressing the button too late or failing to press it results in the lowest score for that jump.

Additional points can be earned by keeping the character balanced near the center of the trampoline. Landing closer to the center, especially on the marked cross, increases the score for each jump. After every jump, the player is shown the points total points reach until that point.

On the final jump, achieving perfect timing while landing near the center of the trampoline triggers a special jump, making the character doing a special animation which is unique for all 4 characters. The special jump does not award extra points over a normal jump. Once the last jump is completed, the routine ends and the player’s total score is calculated.

Points Scoring

The maximum points a player can get for a jump is 4.799pts. Which results in 47.990 total points. You start your routine slightly upwards the center. The player can mover down slightly to get a high first score. The character does not move after the first 3 jumps, making the first 4 jumps easy to score consistently at.
